Are you shopping for the best electric SUV in 2025? Here is a list of 10 models worth your time.
2025 Electric SUVs
For this top 10 of the best electric SUVs for 2025, the models shown are 100% electric options. Remember that there are many hybrids and plug-in hybrids on the market as well.
2025 Volkswagen ID.4
An SUV from Volkswagen Canada that fully earns its spot in this top 10 (you can see it for yourself in the table below!) is, without a doubt, the VW ID.4. With a base price of $46,318, it delivers notable output (335 horsepower) and an impressive range (468 km), along with one of the more remarkable towing capacities (2,700 lb) and a generous amount of cargo space that surpasses nearly all other models.
Come see it up close and review the 2025 VW ID.4 spec sheet at Complexe VW 440 in Laval, on the North Shore of Montreal, near Terrebonne and Montreal-North.
2025 Hyundai Kona EV
The Kona EV is a solid option, but despite a higher price than the ID.4, it is offered in a single front-wheel-drive trim with modest capabilities (201 horsepower and no towing). Its cargo volume, however, remains generous.
2025 Kia Niro EV
The Niro EV stands out for its price, which is still relatively close to the ID.4 while delivering lower capabilities. Its cargo space is also similar.
2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV
One of the Equinox's strengths is the 513 km range with the front-wheel-drive trim. With all-wheel drive, that figure dips to 494 km. Its towing capacity is far below the VW electric SUV (1,500 lb vs. 2,700 lb), and so is cargo space (1,620 L).
2025 Kia EV6
The Kia EV6 is the only other SUV at a price comparable to the ID.4 with the same towing capacity, plus similar output. But expect about 400 L less of cargo volume.
2025 Nissan Ariya
The Nissan Ariya is a good pick, though more expensive ($52,898). You'll appreciate the dynamic drive with 389 horsepower and a range similar to the VW, although towing is lower and the cargo space is more limited.
2025 Honda Prologue
The Prologue has made its mark and is worth considering, though you should be prepared to spend nearly $15,000 more than the ID.4 for comparable capabilities.
2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV
The Chevrolet Blazer is a capable SUV, but it is much pricier than the ID.4, even though all-wheel drive is not standard. Also note that the 615-horsepower figure applies to the SS trim with WOW mode, which pushes the price past $70,000. Otherwise, base output is 200 horsepower for the front-wheel-drive LT trim.
2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5
The popular Ioniq 5 deserves a look, but note that in its base trim, range is just 354 km. Luckily, you can opt for the long-range trim, rated at 504 km. Even at its higher price, both towing capacity and cargo space are less generous than for the ID.4.
2025 Cadillac Lyriq
Let's finish this top 10 with one of the best luxury electric SUVs. You get all the capabilities you need with 3,500 lb of towing, 1,722 L of cargo volume, 525 km of range, and up to 615 horsepower with the VelocityMax mode. The only catch? Plan to spend nearly $30,000 more than for the VW ID.4.

Volkswagen iD.7
2024 Volkswagen iD.4
Information about the 2024 iD.4 is still quite sparse, but this electric SUV should go through a small stylistic update, especially for the lower body and the headlights.
Moreover, there seems to be the possibility of new elements aboard the future iD.7 electric sedan, like a new multimedia system with a 12- inch screen. New powertrains could also be offered, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer
The Blazer EV has a truly stunning interior and exterior design. Here too, all of the features offered by this 2024 electric SUV remain unknown but, according to the manufacturer, we could expect a range of between 400 and 515 kilometers, depending on model. Moreover, you can expect features like a 17.7- inch screen, a maximum of 557 horsepower and instant torque, once this vehicle arrives on the market, which is between summer 2023 and winter 2024, depending on model.

Furthermore, when using a quick charging station, the Equinox could recuperate 112 kilometers in only 10 minutes.

The first fully electric Honda SUV ever –made at the Honda design studio- will make its debut in 2024. With a generous amount of interior space, it also has an 11- inch fully digital screen for the driver –as standard offered equipment- and an 11.3- inch touch screen as well.
To date, we still do not know about range or power; this information should be revealed over the course of the next few months.
2024 Ford Explorer EV
Ford will be offering a 100 % electric version of its 3- row SUV around the end of 2024. With a spacious interior that can welcome at least 6- passengers, it should also offer solid performance levels, both when it comes to power and range.
