2023 Volkswagen iD.4
The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4’s bold and athletic lines, along with the numerous available body colors, make it truly irresistible. The stylized fascia, the 19- inch or 20- inch wheels, the LED headlights and taillights along with the panoramic glass sunroof also add to the overall charm.

As for the Model Y, despite a very successful design, it is more bland, and simply not as stunning as the ID.4 design. Moreover, you will only have a selection of 5 available body colors, compared to 13 for the Volkswagen, which also offers 3 different 2-tone body color options. It can be equipped with 19- to 21- inch wheels, depending on selected model.
The interior is minimalist and streamlined, and standard offered in black; you can also choose a white interior, as an added option.

When it comes to electric range for the iD.4, it can reach between 410 and 433 kilometers on a single charge, depending on selected trim. Moreover, the entry-level trim is equipped with a 201 horsepower electric motor with a 62 kWh battery; as for the intermediate trim, it also offers 201 horsepower, but it is equipped with an 82 kWh battery. This is the same battery found on the superior trim, which offers 295 horsepower.
While you are traveling, you can expect to be able to recover from 10 % to 80 % charge in around 30 minutes. This also translates into adding around 100 km of range with a 10 minute charging time.
As for the Model Y, it will give you a range between 394 and 531 km, depending on selected trim, and between 384 and 456 horsepower. It is also equipped with a 75 kWh battery.
The Tesla Model Y offers an amount of cargo space that can reach up to 2,158 liters, once rear seats are folded. It can also tow up to 3,527 lbs (1,600 kg).
As for the ID.4 electric, it can tow up to 2,700 pounds with the all-wheel drive system, and will provide you with anywhere between 858 and 1,818 liters of cargo space.
The Volkswagen iD.4 also stands out from the Tesla Model Y when it comes to added technologies; and although the later offers a 15- inch touch screen –compared to 12- inches for the iD.4- it does not offer Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, contrary to the Volkswagen Canada SUV, for which this is included as standard offerd equipment.

Take note that on the Tesla Model Y, almost all commands go through the touch screen; so expect to need some time to adapt, in order to really understand how it works and to get used to the absence of a dashboard, especially given that all of the info related to speed and kilometers are displayed on the 15- inch screen to the right of the driver.
